Congratulations on redeeming your hard-earned Salt for a share of stock from GiveAshare.com! This guide will walk you through the process from redemption to managing your stock with your company's transfer agent.

Step 1: Registration Process

1. Salt Labs Partners with GiveAshare – Salt Labs works with GiveAshare to process your stock redemption.
2. Stock Registration – GiveAshare registers the stock in your name with the company’s transfer agent.
   • What is a Transfer Agent? – A transfer agent is a financial institution hired by your company to keep track of its shareholders and manage stock registration. You can find your company's transfer agent in the table on the last page of this document.
3. Registration Timeframe – Registration typically takes 4-6 weeks, but this may vary depending on the company and its transfer agent.
4. Delivery Confirmation – Once the stock is registered, the transfer agent will mail a Direct Registration System (DRS) statement to your registered address (more below).

Step 2: Receiving Your DRS Statement

• The DRS statement is an official document, like an account statement, that confirms your stock ownership. This document is mailed by the transfer agent in a plain white envelope. It’s easy to miss, so please keep an eye out for it!
• If you have not received your DRS statement within seven weeks, contact the transfer agent directly to request a new one.

Step 3: Registering for Online Access

1. Find your company in the table at the end of this document to find your transfer agent and click on the relevant New Shareholder Registration link.
2. Enter the requested details, including the Account Number found on your DRS statement, to register your account. Note: We do not have your Social Security Number on file so you will not be able to register for online access using your SSN.
3. Once registered, you can view and manage your share of stock by logging in to your account using the Shareholder Portal Login link in the table at the end of this document.

Step 4: Managing Your Stock Online

Once your stock is registered and online access is established, you have several options:

Manage Account & Personal Information

• View Account Details – See ownership details, transaction history, and declared dividend payments.
• Update Contact Information – Change your mailing address, email, or phone number if needed.
• Enroll in or Manage Dividend Reinvestment Plans (DRIPs) – If offered, sign up to reinvest dividends into additional shares.
• Download Tax Forms – Access and print tax forms such as 1099-DIV for dividend payments.
• Appoint a Beneficiary or Change Registration – Update ownership details for estate planning.
• Opt for Electronic Communications – Switch to paperless statements and notifications.

Transfer Shares to a Brokerage Account – 

1. Contact your brokerage and request a DRS Transfer. 
2. Provide them with information found on your DRS statement.
3. Your brokerage will submit a request to the transfer agent, and the shares will be moved into your brokerage account (this process typically takes 5-10 business days).
4. Once transferred, you can manage your shares within your brokerage account, including selling, buying more, or consolidating with other holdings.

Sell Shares – You have two options: 

1. Through the Transfer Agent – Initiate a sale directly through the transfer agent website for a small fee. Processing times vary by agent.
2. Through a Brokerage Account – Transfer your stock to a brokerage account (see above) and then sell through your broker.

Buy More Shares – If your company offers a DRIP or Direct Stock Purchase Plan (DSPP), you may be able to buy additional shares through your transfer agent account, often with low or no fees.

1. Check Eligibility – Refer to the table below to see if your company allows DRIP or DSPP purchases.
2. Enroll – If eligible, sign up for the plan through the transfer agent’s website.
3. Purchase – Look for a Buy More Shares option and pay via bank transfer or check. Some plans allow automatic monthly purchases.
